Advice, dosage, price & side effects of Reductil appetite suppressant
Reductil is an appetite suppressant which was prescribed in the treatment of severe obesity to patients who did not respond well enough to a low-calorie diet..
To get a prescription of this treatment, patients had to have a body mass index of 30 or more and thus risk factors such as type 2 diabetes, hypercholesterolemia or hypertriglyceridemia.
Reductil has for years been the world’s best-selling appetite suppressant. Studies have shown its negative impact on health, which has led to its withdrawal from sales in 2010. Its most recommended alternative today is PhenQ, known for its double effect of fat burner and appetite suppressant.
What is Reductil?
Reductil contains the molecule sibutramine, an anorexic agent that suppresses appetite.
It was prescribed only to patients who failed at their original treatment against obesity. However, they were asked to have healthy eating habits and practice sports in addition to Reductil.
Reductil was available in two different dosages, 10mg caps, and 15mg caps. The usual dosage was one 10mg capsule a day preferably in the morning, and the treatment could not exceed one year.
Taking Reductil, patients lost on average 5% of their body weight. Example: a person weighing 330lbs would be able to lose 16.5lbs in one year.
The price of Reductil 15 mg ranged from $30 for a box of 30 caps to $115 for a box of 150 caps.
Reductil was withdrawn from the market and definitively banned from sales in 2010 in the US. There are alternatives such as PhenQ which operates both on appetite suppressing and fat burning in addition to a healthy diet.
Why is Reductil banned from sells in the United States?
The CHMP (Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use) estimated that the benefits of taking Reductil were lower than the risks associated with it.
Sibutramine, the active ingredient of Reductil, according to one study shows a higher risk of cardiovascular complications (stroke or heart attack) in people treated with sibutramine compared to those who received a placebo.
Sibutramine is an anorexic agent that acts on the brain by increasing the effect of two neurotransmitters: serotonin and norepinephrine. These neurotransmitters have the effect of increasing the feeling of satiety.
After two deaths that may have involved this drug, Italy was the first country to suspend it from the market in March 2002.
A European re-evaluation of the drug was made with a request to Abbott Laboratories (a company that makes Reductil) to carry out a new study. This sibutramine study focused on the safety of this drug in patients with cardiovascular risk factors.
In 2002, the Abbott company began the study SCOUT (Sibutramine Cardiovascular Outcome Trial), which examined, in addition to weight loss in patients, the frequency of cardiovascular events (myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular accidents, and cardiac arrest).
Approximately 9,800 patients were followed for up to 6 years. The study demonstrated increased cardiovascular risk during treatment with sibutramine.
Reductil was therefore withdrawn from the market in 2010 but also all drugs containing sibutramine.
These include: Absten, Adisar, Anirex, Spector, Atenix, Butaslim, Controlex, Diet Max, Ectiva, Fagolip, Ipogras, Lindaxa, Meissa, Meridia, Mesura, Minimacin, Minimectil, Nobese, Novo Dimagrir, Reduxade, Reduxate , Regitrim, Sibotrim, Sibutra, Sibutral, Sibutramine, Sibutrax, Sibutril, Sigran, Sanford, Sitran, Slimax, Smartan, Tramentel, Yeduc, Zelium and Zelixa.
Why is it dangerous to buy Reductil on websites that still sell it?
Now you know that Reductil is banned from sells in the United States and in Europe because it is dangerous for the health.
Some may be tempted to go beyond this prohibition and order this drug on illegal foreign websites. But keep in mind that Reductil can be very dangerous to your health and is suspected to be the cause of two death in Italy.
When it was marketed, a medical prescription was needed to start taking Reductil, and the treatment was under regular medical supervision.
Illegally buy this drug only means you won’t have a prescription and will not have any medical supervision. The risk of experiencing side effects is, therefore, more important and consequences could be dramatic.
The OFFICIAL version of Reductil is NO LONGER available. All drugs so-called “Reductil” up to this day are fake…
Most websites still selling Reductil get their products from Asia or South Africa.
Keep in mind that this is not safe as the drug you buy may come from laboratories that do not meet any specifications and that produce poor quality goods, which may contain ingredients toxic for your health.
Illegally buy this drug means you are taking high risks for your health and trusting people only interested in your money.
As this drug is banned from the US and Europe market, it can be seized by customs. Taking such a risk for a few pounds less is not worth the trouble.
What are the reliable alternatives to Reductil?
More recent than the following options, PhenQ has the benefit of acting both as an appetite suppressant and a fat burner.
Although it is not as well known as Xenical or Orlistat, which were the first real alternatives to Reductil, PhenQ is today the most recommended treatment.
With fewer side effects compared to the others, it is easier to take in the long term. Our #1 alternative to replace the Reductil.Check PhenQ’s complete profile
Xenical is prescribed in the treatment against obesity (BMI of 30 or more) and overweight (BMI of 28 or more) associated with high-risk factors. It must be taken in addition to a moderately low-calorie diet and a regular physical activity.
Its active ingredient orlistat decreases the absorption of fats from the diet. The body will absorb fewer calories, and the unprocessed fats are removed by the stools.
The usual dosage is one capsule 3 times a day during meals. Treatment should not exceed a period of 12 weeks.
It can be purchased from an online pharmacy. We recommend Treated.com which is a reliable pharmacy, easy to use and secure payment. The price of a box (84 caps) of Xenical costs on average one hundred dollars.Check Xenical’s complete profile
This medicine is a supplement to the low-calorie diet. It has the property of blocking the action of an enzyme that allows the digestion of fats: the intestinal lipase. Orlistat acts locally in the stomach and intestine.
Orlistat is prescribed as a supplement to a low-calorie diet for patients suffering from obesity or overweight associated with other high-risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol.
For a one-month treatment of Orlistat, it will cost between 60 and 80 dollars. You can get this drug from an online pharmacy. To purchase Orlistat, you need a medical prescription.
You must first have an online consultation before ordering this drug.Check Orlistat’s complete profile
The truth on appetite suppressants
Admittedly, appetite suppressants often have bad reputations but yet, used wisely, they are valuable allies when you want to lose weight.
As their side effects far outweigh their benefits on health, many have been withdrawn from the market.
The biggest challenge when you want to lose weight is to control your hunger. The natural response of man to hunger is of course to eat. It is therefore important to reduce your appetite if you want to lose weight. The appetite suppressants are valuable since they help to better resist this irresistible and uncontrollable urge to eat when you are hungry.
An appetite suppressant, therefore, has the role of controlling a person’s appetite by preventing from “eating too much”. Thus, food cravings are reduced, and you will no longer feel the desire to snack.
Some appetite suppressants slow down the absorption of nutrients in the gastrointestinal tract while others are stimulants that work on the central nervous system.
Appetite suppressants must be taken in agreement with your doctor, and medical supervision is essential. Nor should they be taken in the long term. Abusing of appetite suppressants can be harmful to your health.
An appetite suppressant will help you to lose weight but is not a miracle product.
You will not lose weight if you don’t change your eating habits:
- For positive results toward your weight loss goals, you must follow a healthy diet.
- To put all chances on your side, it is also advisable to practice a physical activity (30 minutes of walking every day for example) in addition to new eating habits and an appetite suppressant.
To conclude, we advise you to never order a treatment that has been banned from the market in the US or Europe (important risks for your health), not to overdose appetite suppressants, to adopt in addition a healthy diet, to practice a physical activity and have medical supervision, either for your weight loss as for taking appetite suppressant.
REMINDER: Reductil is NO LONGER available in the United States or in the UK since 2010.
